Phillip Jones

Phillip Jones has been Chairman of Heartland FM since 2023.

After retiring from his career at SSE, Phill became involved with the Crieff based charity Creative Crieff to help them explore ways to expand the coverage and awareness of their local radio station: Radio Earn. During this work, the opportunity arose of potentially merging Radio Earn with the heritage community station Heartland FM to create a new station that could transmit on FM and cover the entirety of rural Perthshire. Working with the Trustees of both Creative Crieff and Heartland FM, along with the Station Manager and staff of Radio Earn, Phill became fully involved with the merging of the two stations leading to the successful re-launch of Heartland FM.

Heartland FM is the operating name of The Heartland Radio Foundation, the charity for which Phill has been Chairman of since October 2023. Phill is responsible for developing and promoting the radio station for the benefit and enhancement of the lives of the people who live in, and visit, the communities across Perthshire.
